
Quammen wins vote for AVMA president-elect
Delegates elect former AVMA officer with a heart for leadership
Dr. Jennifer K. Quammen of Walton, Kentucky, has won the race for 2025-26 AVMA president-elect against Dr. Mary Ergen, outgoing District 3 representative on the AVMA Board of Directors.
The AVMA House of Delegates (HOD) elected the former AVMA vice president on Friday, the final day of the regular annual session of the HOD, held this year in Washington, D.C. She will succeed Dr. Michael Q. Bailey as AVMA president when the HOD convenes next July in Anaheim, California.
Dr. Isaac Bott, the Society for Theriogenology delegate who nominated Dr. Quammen for the office of AVMA president-elect, noted her caring and compassionate nature and described her as a leader who embodies genuine leadership.
