At Otto, we believe that clinic and client data belong to the clinic and the client. We use your clinic’s data solely to provide functionality and services that your clinic has opted into and nothing more. We do not sell or share clinic or client identifiable data.

This Privacy Policy describes how Otto (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information through our website www.otto.vet, software applications, mobile apps, and other interactions with our services (collectively, the “Services”). It also outlines the choices available to you regarding our use of your personal information and how you can access and update it.

HOW TO SUBMIT A REQUEST 

Requests to Know, Correct, Withdraw Consent, or appeal our decision on your request. You may submit a request or appeal our decision on your request through the following methods:

To submit a request, we are required to verify your identity. You will be required to provide the primary email address listed on your account. A verification email will then be sent to that email address in order to verify your identity. We may need to contact you to confirm your request.

You may use an authorized agent to submit your request. If you are an authorized agent and a consumer has given you written, signed permission to submit a request on their behalf, you must submit a copy of that permission to us in order to submit the consumer’s request. We will require the consumer to verify their identity and directly confirm with us that they have provided you with permission to submit the request. You may submit such requests through the following methods:

CROSS-BORDER TRANSFERS OF PERSONAL DATA

Personal data that you provide while in Canada will be transferred to the United States and may be transferred to other countries. The laws in these other jurisdictions may not be as protective of your privacy as those in Canada and your personal data may be accessible to law enforcement and national security authorities of those jurisdictions. If we transfer personal data from the EU, an EEA member state, the UK, or Switzerland, we will comply with PIPEDA’s Fair Information Principles with respect to personal data transferred.

Otto does not knowingly collect, use, or disclose personal information from children under the age of 13. Our Services are intended for use by individuals 13 years and older.

If we learn that we have inadvertently collected personal data from a child under 13, we will delete it promptly. If you believe that a child under 13 has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately at privacy@otto.vet.

For residents of certain states, such as California, we also comply with the CCPA and other relevant laws that may require additional protections for users under the age of 16.

  1. SMS Text Messaging Compliance

Otto sends SMS text messages for:

  • Transactional Purposes: Appointment reminders and service updates.
  • Promotional Purposes: Marketing messages (only with express written consent).

To comply with TCPA:

  • Opt-In: Promotional messages require clear consent and opt-out instructions.
  • Opt-Out: Reply “STOP” to opt out of any SMS message.
  • Quiet Hours: Messages are only sent between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. local time or based on your clinic’s preferences.
