VMX 2026 was one for the books. From packed aisles and spontaneous booth conversations to thoughtful questions and honest dialogue, our team left Orlando energized and grateful for the time we spent with veterinary professionals from across the industry. It truly went great, and we loved meeting customers, longtime partners, and new faces who stopped by to share what’s working, what’s hard, and what they want to see next.
One of the highlights of the week was our speaking session, AI and Your Career: How to Thrive, Not Compare. The conversation featured Dr. Jen Quammen, Steven Carter, and Craig Putt, co-founder and practice manager at Beachy Cove Animal Hospital. Together, they delivered a practical and refreshingly honest discussion about what it really looks like to work alongside AI in veterinary medicine. The focus was not on hype or fear, but on how AI can reduce burnout, protect the roles clinic teams care about, and help build a more sustainable, future-proof career in vet med.
What made the session especially meaningful were the follow-up conversations. The audience engagement and questions sparked thoughtful dialogue that carried well beyond the room, reinforcing that clinics are eager for realistic guidance on using technology in ways that actually support their teams.
Outside the session, our team walked away with clear industry insights that will shape 2026.
- Clinics are focused on filling appointment slots by attracting new clients while also bringing lapsed clients back through the door.
- AI is here to stay, with an emphasis on giving teams back time to focus on patient care.
- Maintaining strong, trusted relationships with clients remains top of mind across every role in the practice.
- Reliable customer support matters: Clinics emphasized the need for communication systems backed by fast, knowledgeable support.
We are already looking forward to seeing everyone again at Western Veterinary Conference in Las Vegas. Until then, we will keep listening, learning, and continuing to improve Otto to better serve the veterinary industry in 2026 and beyond.
