Otto’s Chief Veterinary Officer Dr. Jennifer Quammen Elected President-elect of the AVMA

From practice to policy: Otto’s own “Jen Q” steps into one
of veterinary medicine’s most influential roles.

AUSTIN, TX — July 19, 2025 — Otto is proud to announce that Dr. Jennifer Quammen, Chief Veterinary Officer, has been elected President-elect of the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA), becoming the official voice for more than 108,000 veterinarians across the United States.

Dr. Jennifer Quammen, known to the Otto team simply as “Jen Q,” has spent her career championing innovation, mentorship, and wellbeing in veterinary medicine. Now, as AVMA President, she’ll bring that same energy and vision to the national stage.

Dr. Quammen has served in a variety of leadership roles within the AVMA, most recently as Vice President, where she focused on student engagement and early career support. She also co-founded Veterinarian Coaching to help veterinary professionals navigate career challenges and avoid burnout.

Otto, the all-in-one veterinary communication platform, enrolled the expertise of Dr. Quammen in 2017 to help design solutions that reduce workflow friction, return time to the veterinary team, and increase overall animal health.

“Otto helps veterinary teams cut through the busywork, so they can focus on care, connect with pet parents, and feel less stressed at work.” said Zeynep Young, Otto CEO. “Dr. Quammen helps us stay laser focused on the evolving needs of vets and clinic staff. She is a key collaborator in designing solutions that truly make a difference. She has much to do with our immense progress and growth!”

As AVMA President-elect, Dr. Quammen will help guide the profession through its most pressing issues, from workforce sustainability to the future of veterinary technology, while continuing her work at Otto to empower clinics nationwide.

“I am honored and so energized to take on this new role with AVMA,” said Dr. Quammen. “I’m driven to continue listening, learning and collaborating with my fellow vet med professionals, as well as our industry partners to up-lift and strengthen the foundations of the veterinary profession.”
